If you want to visit a winery, we suggest using either Uber or Devine Wine Tours. We have had multiple guests book them for tours with the best compliments on the service. We have also had guests book Uber. Devine Wine Tours is very professional if you want a group outing to local wineries. They will pick you up from the TownHouse if you make a reservation (bus, car, or Limo). A Private tour is a good 6-7 hour day. But they include lunch, bottled water, and tasting fees at a few places. Not sure if you can customize your tour as there are so many wineries to choose from. They say there are over 280 wineries in Virginia, with 44 of them in Loudon County alone, just across the river from the Townhouse. On my map above I’ve identified 30’ish wineries within 25 miles of the Townhouse. 6 of them are within 10 miles. Add in Maryland and the number of wineries goes way up. West Virginia will soon be adding wineries due to changes in state laws I hear. The closest wineries are Maggie Malick Wine Caves, Notaviva Fermentations, Two Twisted Posts, Bozzo Family Vineyards, 868 Vineyards, and Breaux Vineyards. Many of these wineries have entertainment and food (often food trucks). Please don’t drink and drive!
